2 month Environmental Analyst Program
(1-11-2008 to 31-12-2008)
Thapar Center for Industrial Research and Development (TCIRD) is organizing 2 month Environmental Analyst training program for preparing the participants for employment as analysts in environmental laboratories. Some of the trained participants, if found suitable, will be employed by the TCIRD.
In this program the participants will have training and hands-on practice of water and wastewater analysis, ambient air quality monitoring, stack monitoring, solid and hazardous wastes analysis, transformer oils and fuels analysis, etc. In addition to the routine environmental analysis, they will also be involved in environmental sampling, microbiological testing, preparing samples for heavy metals and pesticides analysis, and using sophisticated equipment like AAS, GC, HPLC and IC.
On successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Completion. If found suitable, some of the participants (a maximum of 5) will be offered employment in TCIRD as environmental analysts at level-1. Further, TCIRD will also help in finding employment to the other successful participants.

Minimum qualification: B.Sc. :with chemistry

Fee: Rs. 10,000/- per participant (lodging and boarding expenses extra).
TCIRD will provide hostel facilities on payment basis. Participants may make their request to the program coordinator in this regard.
Selection process: Selection will be on the first come first served basis. Candidates desirous of attending the program should register through applying to the program coordinator before 20-10-2008. Candidates selected for the program will be intimated
by phone or e-mail by 25-10-2008.
