The group is conducting research in the area of chemical recovery process, wastewater treatment, solid waste handling and management, and also providing services like environmental assessment, and analytical services. The projects are sponsored by Indian Paper Manufacturers Association, Ballarpur Industries Ltd., Govt. funding agencies and others industries. The major activities include the following:
