Director's Message

The journey which was started in 1983 with the active support of Thapar Group of Industries is continuing with full vigor and enthusiasm. Of course, there are many up and downs in its 26 years’ of life; but we have circumvented the challenges and adjusted ourselves with the time.

While maintaining initial direction on generic research a new dimension on finding solution to the industrial problem has been added. Emphasis has been laid on faster delivery of output so as to be the real partner of the industry for its progress.

Our current focus of research is in the area of pulp, paper and allied industries, chemical and environment. We have moved from mainly single customer to multi customer based research organization. Though the major support uptil now comes from the promoting organization, we have been able to reach to the Indian pulp and paper industries as a whole and to other Industries as well with the change of Policy and Strategy. In the recent past we have shared two technologies to a leading pulp and paper mill and provided consultancy for the improvement of productivity to one mill in South and another one in North India.

We have been collaborating with national and international pulp and paper research institutes for enhancing the research output and faster growth. We will welcome the technical and research challenges of Indian pulp and paper industry; this will be our endeavor.
